Q: Does the 2009 Toyota Yaris have height adjustment and reclining for the driver's seat?
Please help me. I'm a short guy. I've driven cars without height adjustments before and it is really difficult. I want to reduce my chance of getting an accident.
A: http://www.toyota.com/yaris/features.html
It would seem that the Toyota Yaris has standard 4-way adjustable driver's seat. (I'm guessing that that is front/back on track, and reclining back seat.)
The driver's seat height adjustment is standard on the Toyota Yaris sedan, but is not available on the Toyota Yaris liftback.
As a shortish woman, I understand your problem. You really need to find a car that fits you and makes you feel comfortable, as you're going to be sitting in it driving for many hours over the time that you own it... I've had some good luck with some nice pillows, and there's one from Brookstone that I hear many good reviews on, if you're set on the Yaris and the seating is not tall enough for you.
Q: How much do licence plates cost for a 2009 toyota yaris?
in nv
A: This has so many possible answers, different states and even counties. Whether you live in city limits or not, some states have one year tags, some have two year tags. Call your license bureau and ask for a quote.
Q: 2009 toyota yaris hatchback for a short girl?
I'm 4'11 and I'm going to get my first car in march, I first wanted the toyota rav4 but the small older model but it is very hard to find it and the use one is about the same price as gettin a brand new car....so I decided to get a new car instead and i was thinking about the 2009 toyota yaris 5dr hatchback.
I'm short and I am not a very experienced driver....well I just started to drive a few weeks ago.
I want a car that is small and will let me see everything around me...the thing i'm afraid is that I wont be able to see when I drive the yaris because it has such a high dashboard
A: lol my mom's 4'10 and she drives our big '91 toyota previa van around.
so you should be able to see. what my mom does is she sits on a pillow to sorta give her a boost so she can see. you should do that too. the yaris might have an option to raise and lower the seat, if so, that should do you fine. but if not, sit on something comfy like a small cushion like what my mom does.
Q: Could a 2009 Toyota Yaris 5-door fit a 36" dog crate and still leave room for other items?
I've been looking at the Matrix 5-door but if I need to go with a cheaper option I may decide to go with a Yaris 5-door. Problem is, I have two dogs and I'd need to fit a 36" x 24" x 26" dog crate, a 21" x 20.5" x 20" dog crate, as well as any other items we may take if going out of town for a weekend or something. I know the Matrix would fit said items and I hear that the Yaris is far roomier than it looks and I know the seats fold flat but I'm still unsure as it is a tiny looking car. If anyone could answer my questions before this weekend that would be great, thanks!
A: I think it would fit.
Call me crazy, but what I would do is take the crates to a Toyota Dealership. I'm sure they won't mind.
The Yaris has a pretty big storage area with the seats folded down.

Q: Toyota Yaris Sedan 2009 Good First Car?
Hello, I am currently fifteen years old and soon to be sixteen and getting my learners license. My plans are to get it the day I turn sixteen. My parents are already considering getting a new car primarily for my dad and I to share. Currently, my mom drives a Honda Civic, and my dad a Toyota pickup.
My parents want a small car, that is reliable and fuel efficient so they can really teach me how to drive, and so we decided on the Yaris and are currently getting a good deal for one.
Is the Yaris a good overall first car? Would I find it easier to learn on it compared to larger cars, SUV's and pickups? Best answer gets 10 points.
A: the Honda Fit is better, The Yaris has a noisy engine and bad brakes.
It gets good MPG but that's about it.
Q: Am I paying the right price for this 2009 Yaris?
I'm looking to purchase a 2009 Yaris 5door Hatchback automatic
I received an offer of $13453.52 After Rebate + Tax License and Fees <--- Is that the total price after rebate and tax license fees? Or is that the price after rebate only? If so, how much would tax license and fees cost?
I'm also looking to trade in my car and use that payment as a down payment for the yaris.

I was hoping for the Yaris to be power door and windows.. but I guess not.
A: sounds to me like thats the price after rebate only. not including all the fees. you have to buy the car for the invoice price first before you get the rebate. so at first you'll be paying the regular price of the car before the rebate, then they have to add sales tax to that, then comes the doc fee which is usually around $299-$399 (could be more depending on dealer), then theres title and registration for about another 250-300 depending on where you live. DO NOT FORGET, dealers will slap on some kind of warranty or maintenance program fee for about another 2000, then some other bs fee like a "gap" fee for another 500. theres a few more small fees they might add (this applies if you buying from a big name new car dealership). the out the door price of the car with all fees together, my guess is gonna be over 20k. thats the final price, before your trade in, before the rebate, etc. you'll see all this when it comes down to the paper work. in reality your only getting a small discount when it comes down to the rebate. its hard to buy a brand new car for the exact price it said on the sticker. but good luck though
Q: Opinions on Toyota Yaris sedan 2009?
A: It's a great compact car, Gets good gas mileage, good safety ratings, lots of versatility in regards to configuration (3-door hatch, 5-door hatch and 4-door sedan) and not overly expensive. See what the incentives are in your area to compare price with a Corolla, especially if you're looking at one that is well equipped as you may find that the Corolla can be purchased for similar money, but overall, I think it is a solid choice.
Hope this helps.
Ken
Q: Anyone own a Toyota Yaris?
Let me hear your reviews. I am thinking of purchasing a 2009 Yaris. And, I want to know if there are any maintenance problems, what the drive is like, how the steering is, etc...
P.S. Let me know the resale value, too. If you have tried to sell your yaris. I'm planning on getting the Sedan. Thanks.
A: Run out right now and get one.
I've sold dozens of Yaris's (not an owner) and I've had ZERO negative feed back from customers. AND, believe me, salespeople are the first to hear if there is a problem.
Excellent gas mileage (should get damn near 40 on the highway). Re-sale value is off the charts. You can't buy a pre-owned 2008 and save more than about $1000.00.
Now, in 2009, side air bags, side curtain air bags and anti-lock brakes are standard. Very safe for a small car.
Feel free to email me if I can give any other advice.

Q: Which Deal for Toyota Yaris Sedan is Better?
Im fifteen almost sixteen and getting my learner's license, my parents were looking for a sub-compact, fuel efficient, reliable yet youthful and good-looking car and we all agreed on the Toyota Yaris Sedan 2009.
First Deal:
Brand new BASIC Toyota Yaris Sedan 2009, Flint Mica color, for take home (all taxes and stuff are included in this price) $17 grand (I live in Canada so prices may differ). This basic model is just bare bones. A car with no AC, power windows, power locks or anything, but it is brand new, and we get to chose the color.
The second deal is:
Second hand Toyota Yaris Sedan 2009, Purchased in September of 2008, with only about 2100 mileage on it. It has a convenience package in it, which contains AC, power windows, power locks, an alarm system, and a few other basic things. It also contains floor mats, and snow tires for the Yaris. This car is in excellent almost brand new condition besides a one or two noticeable scratches inside. The take home price is $17.5 grand, but if we haggle and successfully bargain we can get it to $17 grand we believe.
Which deal is better and why?
Personally, I am aiming towards the second, but my parents are still a little double-minded.
A: The second is a better deal. It will still be under the Toyota warranty and it's only done 2100 miles. For only $500 extra to get the extra things is more than worth it, especially if its the drive away price including tax etc.
I would try to haggle it down to $17 000 and a little white lie about perhaps getting a new one for the same price wouldn't go astray...(have just bought a new car and have used this a couple of times against seedy car salesmen).
Q: Not sure which car I should get?
I'm in the market to lease a new car and I can't make up my mind. My choices are between; 2009 Toyota Yaris (sedan), 2009 Hyundai Elantra, and 2009 Ford Focus. How important are anti-lock brakes? Any feed back on either one of these cars would be greatly appreciated. Oh, also I drive approximately 15 000 - 20 000 kms a year if that makes any difference.
A: I hear great things about the new Focus, and personally I really like the look of them. These cars are all in the same class, so they will all be very similar.
Anti-lock brakes are important if you are driving in winter or slippery driving conditions. The computer controls breaking when your car is detected to be in a skid. It pumps the brakes rapidly allowing you to stop skidding.
Skidding is bad because you don't stop as fast as you would if your tires kept rolling (believe it or not) and skidding also makes it so that you can't steer your car. if your tires keep rolling a little then you can still steer out of the way of danger in slippery conditions. anti-lock brakes or ABS is an excellent feature to have. You wont use it untill you really need it. The only way it's not useful is if your familure with the "thresh-hold breaking" or pumping your breaks in skid conditions. with ABS you don't use these techniques, you simlpy but your foot down and apply steady pressure and let the ABS do it's thing.
If you do get a car with ABS and you have never used it before I recomend you go somewhere (like a parking lot) and try using them. Brake hard until you start to skid, then just keep braking and let your abs come on. you will feel your pedal pulse. This is something you should become familure with so that it doesn't scare you when you get into a bad situation because it does feel very different the first time you experience it.
(sorry for the long reply)
Q: What do you think about the 2009 Hyundai Accent?
Do you like it better than the Toyota Yaris?
A: its a very nice and affordable car. its small and seems very comfortable.
it looks really nice as well. for its small look, the interior is really large and roomy. it is a pretty comfortable car to ride in. even for taller people. also, with the bad economy, this car also provides great gas mileage. so it will really help with paying for gas and everything. especially for a part time worker//student.
i think this is a really nice car. and just from my personal choice, i think ice blue metallic would look really nice on that car.
Q: state farm car insurance, cost...?
How much do you think it would (guesstimate) cost to purchase car insurance from state farm, as a 21 year old, who wants to purchase a new 2009 toyota yaris?
I don't want to get a quote online because I dont want to give my personal information out just yet.
Does anyone know of any good car insurance companies for cheap for someone under 25?
A: I guess it'll cost you about $300 especially as you'll want comprehensive cover on it? But it might be less, depending on where you live.
This is a comparison site that deals with the main top insurers, including state farm and the other big ones

Q: Best and safest car model?
I'm going to get my first car next month and I don't know what model to get. I am a small 23 yr old female and I just recently started to drive. I want a small compact car. I initially wanted the 2003 rav4 because it was small and high and it would make it easier for me to see everything....but the only way I can get the 2003 model is if i get a used car. I don't want a use car because i would pay the same amount as a new car and its just not worth it. I don't like the 2009 model because it is too big for me.
I have a couple in my mind right now...2009 toyota yaris 5 door and the nissan versa hatchback.
I don't know much about cars but from what I hear, toyota is the best model and safest to drive. I wanted to know if there is something else I should be looking at...
A: Honda Fit S
avoid the Toyota Yaris & Versa, chevy Aveo, smart car.

Standard equipment includes air conditioning; power windows, mirrors and door locks; tilt and telescopic steering column; current and average fuel consumption indicators; and 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system. The Fit Sport adds 16-inch alloy wheels, an aerodynamic body kit, a roof spoiler, fog lights, chrome headlight bezels, perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel and chrome exhaust tip. Satellite-Linked Navigation System and Vehicle Stability Assist are both available for Fit Sport.
Q: Mercury Insurance, adding a new car, estimate?
I'm definitely going to call Mercury, but I'd just like an estimate if anyone is able to give one.
There are 4 people under the insurance, all family. One person has full coverage on their car, and everyone else is one way.
I'm buying a new car within the month, specifically a 2009 Toyota Yaris 4 door hatchback automatic.(Financing the car)
Every 6 months we are paying $1300. Totaling $2600 a year.
I know insurance is very expensive when you add a new car to your policy. But how much would it cost for us with full coverage?
Thank you for any input
A: You can compare how the insurance quotes would change, for example here - autoinsurance.undonet.com
Q: How much can I get at trade in value for my car?
What my plans are for this month is trade-in my used car, and purchase a new car (2009 Toyota Yaris 4d Hatchback Auto) ~$14,000
I used Kelly blue book, and they gave me an estimate, but since my car is in Salvage Title due to theft, the price would definitely go down.
Kelly blue book gave me an estimate of my car being worth at suggested retail value asking price of 4,520 at dealers.
1996 Honda Accord DX Sedan 4D
My used car specifications:
Engine: 4-Cyl. 2.2 Liter
Trans: Automatic
Drive: FWD
Mileage: 181,000
Equipment:
Air Conditioning
Power Steering
AM/FM Stereo
Single Compact Disc
Dual Front Air Bags
Alloy Wheels
I also have slight scratches in the rear and front of the car.
If this is also taken into consideration..
I also just recently gotten my transmission rebuilt 2months ago ($1300), new steering wheel gear box 4 months ago($400), recently purchased new tires 6 months ago($300+), new battery starter 1 month ($100)
Basically.. I'm looking to trade in my car, and with the price I can get, and add in my own money to equal $2,000 for a down payment
Your thoughts?
Thank you!!
A: Because it salvaged you will probably get jack shit for it. The rebuilt tranny, gear box, tires, and starter won't matter to a dealer. I would see what the dealer will give you for it. Because you would be buying another car that is a substantial price they may give you something descent for it just to get your business. If that doesn't work out I would try to sell it out right to a private party. It may take a little longer but you will get more for it.
