Q: When does a Toyota Yaris 1.0L 99-03 start being unreliable?
I'm planning to buy a Toyota Yaris for under £2000. With this budget i realise i can't be picky. However I would like to know that the car is going to last for a while. What age and milage can this car handle?

A: Toyotas are one of the best cars to buy. Their apprenticeship is about the best in UK. If ur car has a full Toyota service history, then dont worry at all they are very reliable cars, so go and buy it, u wont regret it. Ps They will last for years and god knows how manjy miles.

Q: Toyota Yaris the old style, does any of the models have a push button start?
Hi i live in the uk and want to buy an old shape yaris eg pre 2005. I have heard rumours that some models actually come with a push button start is this true and if so which ones?

A: The Yaris does not have a push start available in any of the models. I looked up the 2009 models and they dont either, but the 2009 do have a 4 door hatchback. I would look into a yaris anyway though, their AMAZING!

Q: Im thinking about buying the Toyota Yaris S Sedan as my first car, is this a good decision?
Im turning 16 this year and I plan to put a $4,000 down payment and pay about $250 a month. This will be my first car, but my dad has taught me a lot about taking care of a car, so I decided to buy a brand new Toyota Yaris S Sedan. So im wondering if this would be a good decision for a first car?

A: no. get a better looking used car

Q: How is a Toyota Yaris for a 22 yr old who is just learning to drive and tried to learn before but got nervous?
behind the wheel. But wants to try again, and likes the idea about how small the yaris is, and has been practicing driving (sorta) on a golf cart for the past 3 weeks, and feels very conferble on the golf cart already. And how reliable is the yaris?

A: A Yaris is a fairly safe and reliable car, but only if everyone else is driving the same size, or you are confident in what you are doing. Have you been taking lessons in a dual control car with a proper driving instructor. That is the only way to really learn how to control a car and get confidence. Driving only with family or friends is not a very good idea, as you pick up their faults.

Q: How do you reset the "maintenance required" light on a Toyota Yaris after an oil change?
I took it in and had the oil changed but the mechanic didn't know how to reset the light. I took it to Toyota and they didn't know how either.

A: make sure the trip meter is on trip "A" . With the key in the OFF position press and hold the trip meter reset button. While holding the button in turn the ign key to the ON position (do not start) and hold for approx 10 seconds

Q: What are the pros and cons of a Toyota Yaris?
I'm looking into getting a new vehicle once I finish paying off my gas-gussling Ford Ranger POS. Plus, I'm going to be moving soon and I'll have further to go to get to work and school so gas prices would kill me if I were to continue driving my truck. I recently looked into the Yaris and I think it's a very cute and affordable vehicle, but I'd like to get some opinions on them. How dependable are they? What are some of their pros and cons? Thanks a ton!

A: A friend of mine says coming up with anything negative over A Yaris is a sin. She loves the thing. Much like yourself, she's had other vehicles and went the way of the Yaris (her words, not Mine) and loves the thing to death. Has never had a problem, very little maintenance, and cheap. If you're looking at allot of miles and not needing much in the way of cargo, go for it. But, in knowing your situation with your guy, is the plans of a baby in the near future? Because if it is, don't get a small car.

Q: How much you pay for Toyota Yaris 06 LE Auto?
I want to buy a Toyota Yaris 06 4DR, LE. Want a best deal from the dealer. How much you pay for it? When is the best time to buy? End of this year or after this year? Thanks

A: THE TOYOTA YARIS FIRST MODEL YEAR IS 2007. THE YARIS NEW HAS ROUGHLY $1000.00 MARK UP IN THE SEDAN PLUS DEALER HOLD BACK. $1000 OFF MSRP IS A FAIR PRICE CONSIDERING THE RECENT DEMAND. IF BUYING USED BE SURE TO CHECK PREVIOUS OWNERSHIP MOST WILL BE RENTAL USE. BE SURE TO RUN CARFAX REPORT AND AVOID LARGE RENTAL CAR COMPANY VEHICLES. TOYOTA DEALERS HAVE THEIR OWN RENTAL CAR CO CALLED "TRAC" VEHICLES I WOULD NOT BE CONCERNED WITH THESE. THEY ARE RENTED TO TOYOTA DEALERS SERVICE CUSTOMER WHILE THEIR CARS ARE REPAIRED. PRICE ON THESE WILL BE 15-20% LESS MSRP DUE TO RENTAL FEES USED TO WRITE DOWN DEALER COST.

Q: What's the difference between a Toyota Yaris T3 and a Yaris TR?
I'm looking into getting a second hand Yaris. All I want is a five door that has the 9 airbags & five star safety rating. I'm not interested in the T2 as it doesn't have the safety features I'm after. But can anyone tell me - Is there a big difference between the T3 and the TR? And is it worth paying extra for the TR?

A: the toyota t3 is a mid-range of yaris's but the the TR is a sports version and may have better body kit depending on age

Q: can i take toyota yaris for 5500 miles road trip?
i am planning to buy 2007 yaris sedan and i want to know if i can take it for 5500 miles trip without any mechanical issues? thanks.

A: you should be able to ,its new,so it should hold up really well, there will be no need to have it checked out really before you go,because its basically a new car,you should have a good trip in that one, good luck on it.

Q: What do you think about the Toyota Yaris? Or should I wait and buy a hybrid?
I sold my car over a year ago and was waiting to get a hybrid. The Yaris has good gas mileage and the price is right. Should I wait and get the hybrid or get the Yaris now for less money?

A: the Yaris is not a good car. the Honda Fit is 10 times better. The Fit comes well equipped with standard power accessories, anti-lock brakes, and curtain air bags. the yaris had a noisy unrefined engine, bad brakes and a choppy Hwy ride. you might get use to the annoying center mounted gauges but the poor ride never gets better. Hybrid technology is changing fast, I'd wait to see what comes next b4 buying.

Q: I want to buy a car with a digital display dashboard - any others apart from Toyota Yaris?
I've had 2 Yaris's in the last 7 years and totally love the digital display dashboard! I want to buy a different car now but would prefer digital dashboard (not the dials!). Does anyone know which other car models have that as standard? Thanks a lot!!

A: Almost all Japanese cars are with digital display dashboard.

Q: What grade oil does the Toyota Yaris take?
I have lost the user manual, and need to know what engine oil the yaris 1.3 takes? is it 10/40w?

A: FOR TOYOTA Yaris, 1.3 Litre MOBIL RECOMMENDS MOBIL 1 10W-30

Q: Looking to buy a car like a Toyota Yaris?
My mom is looking to buy a new car. She wants it to be cheap, and either a hybrid or one that gets really good gas mileage. She wants the back to fold down easily so our dogs can hop in the back- she would really like a hatchback. She wants a manual transmission and she doesn't want to buy a new one- maybe like a 2005 or something. She really likes the Yaris but we want to shop around and try out other cars like it. Any ideas?

A: The Honda Fit is very nice, too. They're both best buys in the subcompact field.

Q: Is the Toyota Yaris as reliable as the Corolla?
I know the Yaris is a fairly new car, but is it as reliable as the Corolla? Does it have that classic "never have to work on" Toyota mentality? I ask because it's a little easier on the wallet plus I've heard folks claim highway gas mileage in the high 30's and low 40's thanks to the 1.5 liter engine. Also, I'm a tall guy at 6'5", would I have a problem fitting in a Yaris?

A: I have an 08 Yaris that I bought in Nov. of last year. I love that I average 38 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the hwy. It is very roomy inside. My brother is 6'6'' and he fits in the front just fine with the seat all the way back. The trunk is huge, and the front windshield is expansive, so I can see :-). My back seats fold down for extra room if I needed it. I have had all of the oil changes done at the dealer and haven't had any major mechanical problems with it. Here are the things I don't like: the resale value has dropped considerably. Not what I expected from Toyota. Also, it is a very light car with little horsepower. I think my car has a little over 100 hp. I have the 5 speed 4 dr sedan, so I can make it go up the hills, but I'm terrified of driving it in the snow because it doesn't have enough weight to help prevent it from sliding around. Even with mud and snow tires and cable chains on the front, I got stuck in a snow bank and had to get towed out when a guy in front of me lost control of his van. Also, this past week, I have had to scrape the INSIDE of my windshield. I'm not sure if it's just a defective windshield on my car, or if the seals are tight enough, but the service department said they'd never heard of such a thing happening. Long and short of it, you get what you pay for. If you want to save on gas, and take lots of road trips, then by all means, buy it. But if you intend on driving over mountain passes or anywhere with snow you're better off buying a Subaru.

Q: Which car, yaris sedan or toyota echo sedan is cheaper on gas and gets better mileage? ?
I have a 04 toyoto echo which I love. But I saw the 07 toyota yaris and it looks pretty good. Which would be better because they look similiar in size.

A: They are essentially the same car. Fuel economy is unsurprisingly about the same. The Echo was just the name of the car when it was first introduced into the North American market (elsewhere it was called the Yaris). When the car was redesigned in 2005/2006, Toyota decided to reintroduce it to North America as a "new" model called the Yaris. Using the same standard tests: 2007 Toyota Yaris: http://fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/2007_Toyota_Yaris.shtml automatic: 29mpg city, 35mpg highway, 31mpg combined manual: 29mpg city, 36mpg highway, 32mpg combined 2004 Toyota Echo: http://fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/2004_Toyota_Echo.shtml automatic: 28mpg city, 36mpg highway, 31mpg combined manual: 30mpg city, 38mpg highway, 33mpg combined most owners of both generations of the Yaris in the US tend to report higher than EPA ratings: Echo: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/mpg/MPG.do?action=browseList2&make=Toyota&model=Echo Yaris: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/mpg/MPG.do?action=browseList2&make=Toyota&model=Yaris Unless your current 04 Echo is costing you too much in repairs, you would do better off keeping your current vehicle than to "trade up" to a newer model year of the same car. If you want better fuel economy, make sure your car is well maintained (use the correct octane gasoline, the correct grade of oil, have your tire pressure checked regularly and at least factory recommended pressures, engine air filters changed regularly, etc.), and make sure that you drive most economically (don't idle your car, no jackrabbit starts and hard stops, anticipate your stops so you coast as much as possible (use the brake as little as possible but stay safe), combine your trips, and don't carry around unneeded stuff/weight in the car).
