Q: how do you get more gas mileage from a toyota tundra 8cyl trd?
this truck 2004 model gets worse mielage than my 2500 truck ??? will changing the preformance chip help?
A: Inflate the tires correctly.
Drive as if you have a cup of hot coffee without a lid on the dash.
Q: how does toyota drivers feel about the new 07 Tundra, personally they ruined the looks.?
I had a 2004 Tundra now i have a 2006 I likeed the 04 and like the 06 not many changes. but i think they messed the body style up on the 2007. its ugly to me, i fell Toyota should have kept a similar body style full size 1/2 ton tundra and then built a bigger truck like they made of the tundra, for a 3/4 ton truck sorta like ford has f150 and f250 so on
A: The redesigned Tundra shines in pretty much every single category compared with the domestics. I do agree that the look isn't so great, but you know for sure that it is huge, powerful, and reliable.
Q: What is typical Tundra gas milage?
i have a 2004 super charged V8 Toyota Tundra, I have a bit of a lead foot, but I am looking to overcome this problem. Sticking with the well priced supreme from brand name companies.
A: This is the 4.7L V8 model engines, they weren't known for fuel economy. Probably should be averaging in the high teens on the highway, and low to mid teens around town.
I have a 2008 Tundra with the 5.7L V8 and average 17city/24highway. So there's a huge difference in economy with the larger V8's in the new tundras with the 6 speed tranny.
Q: Squeeky Shocks?
I have a 2004 Toyota Tundra Double cab and resently the from suspension has been really realyl squeeky. Every time i go over a bumb or dip, they squeek really bad. Can anyone tell me what wrong and how to fix it?
A: Probably a ball joint or tie rod or control arm bushing. You need to pinpoint the noise. Get a midjet to lay on a rollaround creeper under there with a stethescope while you drive around. That's how I do it.
Q: My car door won't open?! ?
I have a 2004 Toyota Tundra.
The door won't open even if unlocked, it opens from the outside handle but if you're inside the car and you try to open the door using the inside handle, it won't open...on the doors that do work, there is a sort of resistance when trying to pull the inside handle, but with this door, there is no resistance...does that mean the linkage or something just
unlocked???
and how much would i usually pay to fix it at a shop?
A: The interior handle has a connector rod that goes to the lock.
Either the rod has disconnected (unlikely) or the plastic fitting on the rear of the interior handle that the rod mounts to has snapped (most likely).
It is a DIY job even for a novice. (1 screw). If you pay a shop it would take no more than 15 minutes to do it.
The interior handle costs about $40 new from Toyota.
Q: Can someone tell why are there so many fairly new cars and trucks on craigslist so cheap?
like this add 2004 Toyota Tundra - $4102

Q: Should I trade in my truck?
I have a 2004 Toyota tundra double cab. It has a leveling kit, dual exhaust, tint, air filter, spray in bedliner, 33x12.5" tires, bull bar and custom grille. It has 62000 miles on it. 4.7 liter engine.
The truck I want is an 2002 F-250 Crew cab with the 7.3 powerstroke. It has 82K miles on it. I heard that diesel engines last longer and get better gas mileage than regular engines.
The main reason is i want to get a domestic truck. I would like the opinion of people that actually have some knowledge of vehicles and engines.
Thanks in advance.
A: I would hold on to the Tundra unless you are always hauling heavy loads or trailers. Diesel engines last longer because they have to be built so much stronger to withstand the super-high compression ratios. They get better gas mileage too, but diesel fuel is more expensive to buy than gasoline. That Toyota 4.7L V8 is a great motor!
Q: How much of a profit should I expect the car dealer to make?
Okay, there's a 2004 Toyota Tundra DoubleCab V8 SR5 4WD, 4X4 that I'm looking at. It has new tires and only 29,640 miles. The dealer is asking $21,990, which is pretty much exactly what Kelly Blue Book says the retail value is. However, the Blue Book also says that the trade-in value is about $13,500 to $14,000. So, the guy who traded it to the dealer probably only got about $14,000 for it. Factoring in that the dealer put brand new tires on it, cleaned it up, etc., I'd expect maybe they spent $14,500 to $15,000 on it. What should I offer? I'm obviously not going to pay sticker price, but is it rude to only want to pay $17,000 for it? They would only make a couple thousand in profit, and I don't know what the expected profit normally is...maybe $2,000 is a good profit, I don't know. I want to be fair to the dealer, but I also want a good deal myself. Can anyone tell me what a dealer should normally make?
I've already looked at craigslist and other online vehicle classifieds, so I'm not completely closed off to that idea. However, the question I'm asking about at the moment is written above.
A: Again, K is incorrect. We usually put in exactly what kbb.com says...granted the car is in good shape. Kbb takes in to consideration that the SUV/Truck market has taken a sh*t in the last 6 months.
I would advise you to try and get it for "private party" value on Kbb. My research is around 17500 to 18000 depending on condition.
We also put more in reconditioning and 500.00. I have seen 2007's come thru w/ 1000.00 to 1500.00 in reconditioning.

Q: oh so toyotas arent such quality cars now are they? ill keep on buying chevys.?
Toyota recalling Sequoia, Tundra models By KEN THOMAS, Associated Press Writer
Thu Jan 18, 7:26 PM ET
WASHINGTON - Toyota Motor Corp. said Thursday it was recalling 533,000 Tundra pickup trucks and Sequoia sport utility vehicles because of potential steering problems.
Toyota said the recall involved 2004-2006 Tundra trucks and 2004-2007 Sequoia full-size SUVs. The automaker has received reports of 11 accidents and six injuries connected to the recall, said Toyota spokesman Bill Kwong.
The automaker said there was a possibility of excessive wear to a front suspension lower ball joint that could make it difficult to steer the vehicle and stay in the center of the lane. Drivers may also notice more noise coming from the front suspension, Kwong said.
Toyota recalled about 775,000 pickups and SUVs in May 2005 — one of its largest recalls ever — because of similar problems with the front suspension. The recall included 2002-2004 model years of the Tundra and Sequoia.
no bro the camry's the bestselling passenger car, the best overall vehicle is the ford f150.
A: Toyota's superior reliability is a myth. J.D. Powers says so. The initial quality ratings for Toyota are below Mercury and maybe even Lincoln.
As for Toyota putting customer first, that's nonsense, they just call them customer bulletins or some BS instead of recalls. That's why there's a big probe in Tokyo about Toyota covering up their quality flaws. It just so happens, the American news media likes to turn a blind eye to Toyota's flaws. Some of the best cars are still from Germany.
Q: Older HEMI VS new Toyota?
How come my friends 2004 Dodge Hemi truck beat me 2 out of 3 times in a dead stop race?!?! I have a new Tundra that supposed to be faster.....does the engine need to be broken in? Im pissed he beat me. My bed frame bounces a lot too....but thats another story.
A: Should have bought a dodge then. Your best solution is to get rid of the POS toyota and buy a 2009 Dodge Ram.
Q: How can I get more horsepower from my 2004 toyota tundra.?
What can I add to it.thanks
A: TRD cold air intake will help.
