Q: 2003 Toyota Tundra.....?
What is the average price to replace a windshield?
Thanks!
Craig M, that's NOT a good website. All I'd like is an average price for a windshield please, no websites to waste time navigating around.
A: lowest price in my area $250.00

Q: Check Engine Light what does this code mean?
I have a 2003 Toyota Tundra and the check engine light code says there is an evaporation problem (or something like that I couldn't fully understand the mechanic super). They said they tested the system and said the filler stem to the gas tank, just under the filler cap is rusted and is allowing fumes to escape.
Does this even sound possible or correct? I am going to the garage tomorrow and have the mechanic show me what they are talking about. Is the fuel system a closed air tight system?
Thanks
A: the system should be sealed so that no fumes from evaporating gas escape to the atmosphere when the car is shut off. the evaporative emissions canister stores those fumes so that they can be burnt once the engine is running.
if you have a leak its usually because of a loose fitting gas cap or a gas cap that isn't tight. I imagine you could have a rusted filler pipe but that shouldn't happen on a 2003. if that is the case I'd call Toyota as there is a longer emissions warranty on many parts.
typically if the filler neck were to be leaking you would smell gas from that area when the car is shut off or you would see gas on the ground after filling it up. I would be suspect of that diagnosis unless I could see it. good for you for asking to see it!
Q: emergency brake please help?
hi there.. i have a 2003 toyota tundra where the emegency brake varely holds on flat surfaces. i use my truck for work. ive had my mechanic recently adjust the e brake. i have to pull the lever all the out for it to hold.. is there any way to keep from having to pull it all the way out??
wonder why the mechanic didnt take care of it properly when i mentioned it to him! thanks for your help :)
A: you may have to replace the rear brakes or have a lot more adjustment done to the e brake ........... when was the last time you had rear brakes done ?
Q: which is better? (car)?
i am going to be gettin my car soon and i dont know what to get here is my list...
2005 toyota tundra Limited
2005 dodge durango Limited
2005 toyota avalon XLS
2004 chevrolet tahoe LT
2003 GMC Yukon SLT
2004 GMC Sierra SLT
i want..
performance
ride
handling
luxry
and POWER MORE POWER
A: I look at some of those myself when I was replacing a van. I chose a 2003 Yukon SLT V8, Fully loaded. I really enjoy the Yukon. It's got a small block V-8 that has plenty of get up and go, plus Bose speakers with a subwoofer and cd changer. All the extras like heated seats, which are great in winter. Something else to consider is that foreign car parts cost 30% more and GM car parts are available almost everywhere.
I highly recommend it. Good luck!
Q: Parents won't get rid of car!!!!?
My parents SUV will be payed off in a year, but my mom is bent on using it for at least 2 more years, if not longer. Parts of this car are broken (nothing big, but mostly cosmetic defects)...the alternator died a few months ago.
The thing is, my parents have the money. I know. My dad just got a new toyota tundra. All 3 of us wear expensive clothing..we have a nice home.
I'm more embarressed because my friends parents have nice cars. One has a BMW 5 series, the other a Cadillac SRX, and one has an Acura TL, but it's a company car.
My parents don't seem to realize that the $6500 the car is worth at trade in now will keep going down and down, which will mean more money to spend on a car, and will restict the models they can choose from. My mom likes the Acura MDX, but at 40k, trade in $$$ is important.
Currently we have a 2003 Ford Explorer XLT...close to 100k miles
A: At 40k, whether they can sell the car for 6500 dollars or 3000 dollars doesn't make a whole lot of difference.
And at 40,000 dollars, they owe 33,500 dollars (in addition to the new truck your dad has) that they don't owe if they keep this car.
If you're embarrassed by the fact that your parents aren't taking on 40 grand in debt, you're a douchebag. Maybe you'd think twice about it if you knew what your friends' financial conditions were really like.
Oh, and as this car gets older, cheaper, and more disposable...and probably as you inherit it, it will be more fun.
Your friends are tooling around in that BMW, going from point a to point b, probably in a manner that would be just as well suited to a 15 year old Lincoln Town Car, if not something far down the food chain. But they've got so much money in that car, they'll never do anything BUT go from point a to point b.
When you're driving around in your 3000 dollar Explorer, knowing it's not worth much, you'll have freedom. You can go scrambling over rocks or tromping around in the mud. It gets scratched? Meh, whatever. It gets dented? So what? You can have FUN with it, without worrying about it. AND you can drive it from point a to point b.
You really aren't seeing the upside here.
Oh, BTW, it's your parents' money, they can do what they want with it. And they don't want to blow money on a car they don't need, don't seem to want, and aren't going to get any more utility from than their current vehicle.
Oh, and Judge Sludge, that's "moot point." (Though if you look into the etymology of that term, it is the result of a degeneration of meaning similar to what you are doing here)
