A: About 150 dollars or 3 goats in Iran. Cheaper for cash!

Q: Battery drain problem 1994 Toyota Tercel?
Although both the battery and Alternator are fine (got them checked at Auto Zone), the battery still drains out even though it is charged for 15-20 mins. Any help is appreciated... Also, this car makes more than normal engine noise when it runs (has 149k miles) although it does not have running problems. I guess engine is not tuned properly...any ideas on this as well???

A: it sounds like a bad battery , altough you had it check it is very possible that it has lost the ability to hold a charge , you get it tested when the charge is high it will pass the check test , but under a constant load the battery drains ........other possibilities is the battery cables are worn or corroded this will cause the battery to drain but not recharge , clean the battery cables at they spot where the mount to the battery terminals ....

Q: whats the top spped of a 1994 Toyota Tercel?

Q: How much would you pay for a 1994 Toyota Tercel with 75,000 mi on it?
I was looking at used cars on the internet and I feel a swindle here. I own a Toyota and like it so well, I decided to look to see if there is one on the net, so I went under used cars and there is a really well kept (appearing) Tercel on sale for almost $7,000. The blue book price is much lower. What do you think is up here. Is this a swindle by a used car dealer or what?

A: Ok - so far you have bits and pieces that if put together, might give you a decent answer. Yes, the Tercel in 1994 (I was selling them then) had a starting base price of about $9900. The DX model, if fully loaded, sold for closer to $13500. While $7000 seems high for this car now, and it truly is, the answers telling you it isn't worth $1500, $2500, or even $3000 are way out in left field. A dealer could not buy that car at auction for even $3000. I am a dealer who attends at least one auction every week, so I should know. Competition is fierce right now for gas saving vehicles, and Toyotas (Hondas too) sell at auction ABOVE the blue book wholesale value. Expect to pay a bit more for a car like a Tercel in these times. Offer the dealer Blue book for the car, and find out what it would take. good luck

Q: should i buy 1994 Toyota Tercel 74 kmi, A/C, price is 2195, one owner?

Q: What is the best way to get to the starter on a 1994 Toyota Tercel?
I am having difficulties getting to the starter thats located somewhere on the back of the engine and I really need to change it today! Someone plz help! Diagrams would be greatly appreciated! First to give detailed instructions that are helpful or a diagram gets the points! I do have basic knowledge of cars. I have worked on cars before having changed out a starter on an Olds Cutlass, as well as doing many other repair jobs on different vehicles. I have never run across one on the back of the engine and if I can get a diagram or a bit of instruction, I can do this on my own! Please someone help me! Just because I am a female doesn't mean I don't know how to work on a car! 1.5 liter

A: Most of the time you need to have basic knowledge on how to change it. You also need the car on a hoist. I would look in the yellow pages and find a shop in your area that is open today, maybe sears. The labor should be around 100-150 dollars, good luck.

Q: Toyota Tercel problem!?
my sister just bought a 1994 Toyota Tercel and the red airbag light is on what does that mean?

A: it means the seller knew it had a problem and now it is your sisters. Always get a buyers inspection on a used car because now you will find out what the seller kept from you--that the airbag system has a big problem ($$) and is not protecting you from a crash. There are many unscrupulous sellers selling "Russian rebuilds" that are totalled cars from out of state. You need to have the airbag code checked to detect the faulty area.

Q: Toyota Tercel help???
Does anyone know how to adjust an emergency/parking/hand break on a toyota tercel (1994)? My car is standard and I need the hand break but it is not working at all currently from use over the years and I need to bring my casr in for inspection within the next few days.

A: Usually, the brake adjustment is made at the rear brakes. You turn the star wheel with a screwdriver or brake adjusting tool until the brakes LIGHTLY drag on the drum. Do this with the wheel in the air. Stop there....do not overtighten or you will find out that the ratcheting mechanism can be a worthy adversary for an amateur. You cannot back it off very easily, so don't over do it. Make both sides drag evenly so they can still be turned with light hand pressure. Assuming you have already done that, then the parking brake lever adjustment is usually a screw located in the "armpit" of the parking brake lever, near the hinge. NOTE: the parking brake lever adjustment is SELDOM made.....only used to compensate for cable stretching over the years.

Q: How much would it cost for a engine to be replaced.?
I have an old 1994 toyota tercel sitting in my backyard. The engine is old, but i have bought a new one, what i want to k now is how much it will cost for me to hire somone to put the new engine in?

A: 500 to put it in and another 2000 to get another engine and redo the installation when you find out the engine you bought is junk. save yourself the headaches and get a new car.

Q: When's the best time to buy a car?
My wife and I just had a our first child and we realized that we needed to upgrade when we "packed" ourselves into our 1994 Toyota Tercel and found that what space we did have was quickly filled up with strollers, etc... Is there a specific time of year to squeeze out the best deals from the dealerships and if you know any tricks that would be great!

A: End of the month is better. Dealers are trying to increase sells so the manufacturer will send them more cars with better options. That is the way it works at GM dealerships.
