A: It would be cheaper to sell you curret one and buy a manual version.
Q: 92-94 Toyota Paseo motor and transmission fit into a 95 Toyota Tercel?
Wanting to know if a 92-94 Toyota Paseo 2.4 liter and automatic transmission could be used in a 95 Toyota Tercel (2.4 liter and automatic)?
A: The following is a cut and paste from the new car feature manual for the 92 Paseo:
The newly–developed 5E–FE engine is a lightweight, compact and powerful DOHC (Double Over Head Camshaft)
1.5–liter, 16–valve engine. It is based on the 3E–E engine in
the Tercel and has large bores.
The Paseo never had a 2.4L. The 5S-FE from the Camry is a 2.4, but is a completely different engine., and is much larger. The 5E-FE would probably bolt right in with little or no modifications, and would be a good swap.

Q: I need help replacing an oil pan gasket on a 1984 toyota tercel wagon?
My son and I have repaired a tercel that grandma blew up. We have replaced the valves had the heads done put a rebuild kit on the carb. and after all we have done we have an oil leak.
We found the source it is the oil pan. It is in an awkward position we are having problems removing the bolts toward the back. Any suggestions?
A: lt is tough to access the bolts once the engine is in because of the cross member and trans brackets. You may have to remove the brackets/stiffeners. It helps to remove the engine mount bolts and jack up the engine, but be real careful not to go too high and watch the clearances-also support the oilpan with a wide block of wood so as not to crush it. once loose, it has to come down far enough to get by the oil pickup.--Good luck
Q: Need to pretty up a junker 93 Toyota Tercel for a college girl.?
I am a gal just going into college and this 93 Tercel with dents and dings was the best cheapest thing I could find in a pinch. Any suggestions on making it more "girly" . Its white, dented up, clear windows, need some SUPER CHEAP suggestions please. I don't have much money, a few bucks here n there. Sites, pics, remedies, diy help.
A: Instead of wasting any money prettying it up, you should save as much as you can throughout your college years so that when it's time for a new car, you will have a sizable sum for a down payment on something incredibly sexy. Dress up a pig and you'll have a pig in a pretty dress. Dress up a sexy woman and you'll have a sexier woman, right? ;-)

not sure on the mileage since I didn't check, but the outside condition is good, lets just assume its in good condition on the inside and doesn't have any problems, how much would it be worth?

Q: What causes the squealing sound in a 83 toyota tercel? Is it probably the alternator bearings?
My alt. belt broke and I replaced it along with my fan belt but when I went to start it up something started squealing and even worse something started smoking alot! The belt are on properly and are not rubbing on anything. Any ideas on what this could be?
A: Sounds like the water pump bearing is siezed.See if you can move the pump by hand with the belt off, if you cant turn it, the pump is bad. Remove and replace. If the pump is good, try turning the alternator, if it is siezed , then you found your problem.

I have an 89 tercel,5 door hatchback, that I got from my gran, who bought it used with a rebuilt engine, when I've opened up the bonnet, there is a thing that looks like it might be a turbocharger or some sort of fan on top of the engine, is that standard for this car, and what is it?
A: I believe that toyota did make a Tercel with a turbo- Yes i pretty sure they did- it did not come with a supercharger- But those cars are very very rare- Its like trying to find the Superharged MR2!!!
Q: How long should it take to replace a manual 4 speed transmission in 1995 Toyota Tercel?
Got a used tranny to replace one that is stuck in third gear. Will most likely reuse clutch (only 2 yrs/<14000 miles highway on clutch). Just want to know estimated time from start to finish to change over tranny. Thanks ahead of time
A: 2 guys 1 day if you guys are good...maybe 2 days tops ...anything after that is not acceptable....Used to own a repair shop....We use to replace it in 4 hrs total....With 1 guy,hes experienced however......Very light Trans.so no worries..

A: Both? About $1,500, probably more that the car is worth...
Q: Are there any websites where I can see parts for a Toyota Tercel 95?
I am in NC. I took my car to the shop and they said my car did not pass the inspection because the power steering pump is leaking. I took the car to a mechanic and he said my car does not have a power steering pump.
So that is mainly what I am looking for.

A: i own a repair shop,and some cars came with power steering,and some didn't,you need to see another mechanic before you try and find this out,if you don't know whether or not it came with one ,how are you going to know what to look for,good luck i hope this help,s.
Q: Where is the oil sending unit located at in a "93 toyota tercel?
Car is having major major oil leakage and we think it may be the oil sending unit we've already changed the front oil seal, the oil pan and the oil pan gasket. Goin thru about 6-6 1/2 quarts of oil a day.

my clock is not working properly. it lits up only when the engine is running, when the swith only is on it does not lit up. it used to lit properly before, what could be the problem,
battery is fine, engine start up on first cranck.

A: A 13 yr old POS car and you are worried about a darn clock. Get a life , You should be happy the motor still runs. Or is it in such bad shape that you use it as your only clock in your life? Got news for you , a wrist watch is cheaper than wasting money on that thing
Q: My 94 toyota tercel leaks oil and oil smoke comes from front left spark plug. a camshaft or crankshaft seal?
I can disconnect the front left plug and the smoking stops but there is still an oil leak coming from the rear passenger side of the block. Please help anybody!
A: It's not the crank seal. My guess is that it's the valve cover gasket and it's leaking onto the spark plug, which is hot enough to make the oil smoke a little, but is not a problem by itself.

I changed the lights and everything and the fuse that I out in it keeps blowing out

A: If the fuse keeps blowing there's probably a bare wire touching metal somewhere.
Q: How long can a clutch last,I have a 96 Toyota Tercel?
If you drive your best and take good care of your clutch by driving well whats the longest it can last?Should it be adjusted from time to time?
I need to know also how often should you get the clutch fluid replaced,sorry if I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about cause I don't.
A: you have a hydraulic clutch so theres no adjustment needed it can last 10 feet or the life of the car depending on how you drive is it "slipping" if not and no trouble shifting your in good shape
