Q: 2006 Toyota Tacoma Owners I have a Question for you!!?
I Have a 4 door 06 as well and I just had an Ipod Hooked Up to the back of my stereo. My Quesion is are the controll modules Lit Up when the lights are on? I think that the light or fuse was blown out when they worked on it. But I want to be sure that it has a light behind it. You wil probably have to check at night! Thank you for you help. I hope I made sesns when Explaining this.

I am interested in buying a 2dr, I4cyl, auto. I read online that it is rated at 3,500lbs towing capacity. Does anyone have experiance with this truck and engine. Will it pull even clost to what it says it will? I am sure it will have no trouble with my motorcycle or two jetskis, but what If i find an old car that I want to restore but is not drivable. Will the Tacoma pull it if I need it to? It wont be an all the time thing, so maybe the engine stress wont be that big of deal, but I want some imput from owners!! Thanks for your help!
A: im getting a tacoma - great truck to drive - the GMC canyon with the 5cylinder has ALOT of problems. the person who said to get that is cracked. Toyota has the best resale value! GM loses value like a waterfall.

A: take the ac panel off, then there should be 4 bolts holding the radio in. all toyotas are the same. then you will have access to the radio. and to your question about a sub, yes, you can put it either in the bed in a weather proofed box (sounds dumb i know lol) or underneath your rear seats if it an extended cab. if its not then behind either of the seats would suffice

i am looking to get a 4 wheel drive truck-i was wondering what would be better off in the long run, the chevy or the toyota-both trucks can handle the amount i'm going to tow and all the stuff like that-i was more concerned with dependability and reliability-i already know that i am comparing a 6 cycl. truck with an 8 cycl. truck, and i already know that the Tacoma that i'm referring to has 4 doors where as the chevy doesn't have 4 full doors-i'm not concerned with that though

Q: High Idle on a 2006 Toyota Tacoma?
When I first start my truck it goes to around 2000 RPM. This is normal for a high idle. What it does next is after 20-30sec. it abruptly drops the RPM down to 1500 RPM and then instantly ramps back up to 2000 RPM until it completes the high idle warm up. Is this sudden drop in RPM normal. If you are wondering, it's a manual transmission, I am not putting it into gear, turning the steering wheel, or moving the clutch in any way. Help?
A: one of the teeth on ur idle thing is off get it fixed or it will cause problems
Q: Best 6" lift kit for 2006 4x4 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Short Bed?
i am looking for a 6" lift kit for a 2006 4x4 toyota tacoma double cab short bed and was wondering what you guys thought-price isn't a factor by the way
A: There are a number of popular 6" lifts out there. Some of the top choices are Fabtech and Pro-comp. But the problem is there isn't necessairly a "best" lift out there. The choice of lift really depends on what your needs are - whether more leaning more towards performance and or just looks.
Some of the things you should ask yourself when purchasing as 6" lift include:
1 - Is this lift removable if I change my mind in the future?
2 - Do I have to cut a stock crossmember to install this lift?
3 - Is the lift compatable with aftermarket coilover front suspension upgrades (or include them)?
4 - What tire size am I planning to run and do I realize the bigger the tire size the more power loss I will experience?
5 - How is the ride of the truck going to change?
6 - How much long term reliability will I loose with the lift?
7 - How will the lift impact the available bed cargo weight capacity of the truck?
Now here is where I will inject a bit of serious personal opinon: Why do you want to go to a 6" lift? As far as performance and ride, you will do much better with a 2.5 - 3" lift. I highly recommend looking into Donahoe Racing coilovers - you will find the offroad and on-road performance to be excellent. Donahoe has one many a Baja 1000 with their coilovers. I have a Donahoe/Deaver lift myself.
Go over to forums at Tacoma Territory Off-Road Assosiation (TTORA) and read through some of the posts in the Late Model Tacoma and Suspension sections. You will get to read a huge amount of hands-on information and real-life feedback on honestly every available lift package out there. Then post some questions in the Newbie section to start off - maybe post up your requirements and ask for suggestions. Here is the site:
