Q: 2005 Toyota Tacoma radiator fluid?
I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma and the owner's manual is not too specific. I want to know how often (how many miles) should I change the radiator fluid (coolant)?
A: You have Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC) installed on your vehicle. It has a 100,000 mile life span. There is typically a very small white rectangle sticker on the hood or radiator support detailing this.
Q: Can my 2005 4-cylinder toyota tacoma standard cab tow a pop up camper?
Want to go camping and test out a travel pop up trailer. 18 foot tops.
can i tow it by just using my step bumper?
A: The truck will tow it no problems at all. I have personally done it how ever I always recomend towing with a receiver hitch. How ever it can be done from the bumper Just check the toungue weight etc. on the camper you are planning on pulling. They are normally under 500 lbs easily. which should be fine for your Tacoma Bumper. I personally pulled a 18 foot pop up with a 1998 Tacoma 4 cylinder before I upgraded to bigger trucks and bigger campers.
It should be stamped on your bumper the may trailer and max toungue weight. Just stay with in the limits and enjoy. If you plan on towing it alot later Invest in frame mounted receiver hitch Installed should only run you about 150$ and is much safer than off the bumper.
Thanks hope this helps. and enjoy the Camper and the Tacoma.
I miss my Tacoma.

Q: Toyota Tacoma tachometer works on and off?
Does anyone know if the 2005 Toyota Tacoma Tachometer works off of a Fuse ??? As sometimes it work and sometimes it doesn't want to work... luckily it is an automatic....
and I think I'm still under waranty but if it something that I can fix I would rather do it if it is just replacing a fuse.....
A: The tachometer sometimes runs off of the secondary igntition system. On modern vehicles it is controlled by the ECU. Take it to the dealer and let them deal with it.
Q: any suggestions about the new 2005/06 Toyota tacoma?
very interested in that truck. thinking about buying one next month.
A: I have a 2006 Tacoma Base Access Cab and love it. The 4 cyl. engine is more than adequate for my needs but a 6 is offered if you think you will need it. I have 31K miles on it and no trouble at all. Go for it!!

Q: 2005, 2006, 2007 Toyota tacoma = compact or mid sized pick-up?
It seems the newer design of Tacomas are bigger than the previous design. Is it still considered compact or is it mid-sized? Tundra is full-sized, and not a mid-sized, right? What are mid-sized trucks out there?
A: Tacoma has been mid-sized since the 2005 model year. Comparable for size would be Chevy Colorado, Nissan Frontier, Dodge Dakota.
Q: anyone with a Toyota Tacoma with a model 2005 and later....?
please list all the problems you have had with it and how you drive it. (off roading, freeway, streets, tow)
A: I have an 07 prerunner quad cab with the 4.0 V-6 and I haven't had any problems at all. In fact I love it! I drive it pretty hard but I don't haul much. I stay on the streets. I have a little over 10K miles and I would HIGHLY recommend the Tacoma to anyone who wants a strong, safe, and well rounded mid-sized truck.
Q: 2006 Toyota Tacoma anyone? Or maybe a 2005 or so.....?
I am looking at the 4cyl base model two-door... The sticker boasts 27 mpg highway. I am wonder if anyone has one and can tell me how accurate this is.... Also, how do you like the truck.
That was very helpful.. the one that is am looking at is the 4 cyl 5 speed standard cab with basic features... thanks

Q: How will a V6 Tacoma Prerunner Perform Off Road?
hi, i have a 2005 V6 2WD Toyota Tacoma extended cab. its a prerunner but has no trd extras. i was wondering how it would do offroad since its only 2wd.
thanks
A: It really depends on the terrain. Since it is not a 4wd or have a locking rear differential (TRD) I wouldn't tackle anything much more than a dry fireroad or dirtroad.
Whatever you decide to do, bring a tow rope and have adequate places on your truck to attachthe rope, go with a friend who can pull you out and don't forget to air your tires down when appropriate.
Q: 2005 tacoma's value?
I'm purchasing a decked out '05 toyota tacoma long wheel base 4 door truck. V6 package with 4x4, 59k miles and in excellent shape. I'm paying blue book on it which is 18,500.
My question is, if I pay monthly on this truck and after taking good care of it and not cranking alot of miles out can I resale it in a year or two and not take too much of a hit? Do they hold their value like silverado does?
A: Yes they hold their value very well.
You need it coz the Ford truck you drive right now is a piece of crap. The Chevy truck you have is a piece of crap. The Eagle thing you bought the other day is a piece of crap (by the way it has a flat).
If you bought this truck, you could drive your daughter around and not worry about her safety.
Q: Toyota Tacoma 4x4 procedure?
I recently bought a 2005 Tacoma 4x4. I need to know the proper procedure for putting the truck in 4 wheel drive Low. Mine has no locking hubs and it only has a dial on the dash for 2wd, 4wdHi, and 4wdLo (not sure if some 2005 models have locking hubs or not). I need to know if I should put the dial on 4wdLo first, if I should shift into Reverse or Drive or not even take it out of Park (it has an automatic transmission). I have looked online and haven't been able to find anything useful, any help would be appreciated.
A: i assume it has and electric switch for the engagement of the 4x4. all you do to go to 4 low is to come to a complete stop and put it in neutral and turn your knob. to go into 4 high or 2 high you can do that while driving at any speed.
Q: My truck smokes every time i turn it on, day or night?
I have a 2005 toyota tacoma, i've always done maintenance on time. Lately it has been smoking from the exhaust, is a white type of smoke, and it does this everytime i turn it on for about the first 10 or 15 minutes. I plan to take it to the shop to have them take a look at it.Does anyone know what could be causing the white smoke.
A: First of all is it smoke or steam? Now that weather is cooler, it may be cleaning out accumulated moisture, - which turns into a "cloud" quickly as it hits the cold air!!
Second how much oil does it use? If you are getting more than 800-1000 miles to the quart, you can probably "ingnore it"! You didn't mention mileage on engine, -- if it has more than 150 - 200K miles on it, - it may just be passing a little oil off the cylinders when it is started! Check to see that your PCV valve is good!
If oil use is not terrible, and you don't like the smoke (if burning oil)-- put in synthetic oil next time,-- (synthetic doesn't burn), - this is an old car dealers trick for "smokers"-- remember not all car dealers are honest!! End result will be that several drops of oil will drip out exhausrt pipe as you go down the road, - no mess, - no smoke to put up with!
If smoke is from worn rings (or not properly seating), -- or from bad stem(&valve) seals on valves, - it will also smoke after going downhill for a little while under compression, - when you step on the gas again, you will get a cloud of smoke coming out for a little while, - or in very light cases just one "puff" of smoke before it clears out! This is because the increased vaccuum from engine running "fast" without throttle pushed down, - makes it suck a lot of oil through if seals or rings not real good!
