Q: need the best price on rear driver-side door for a 2004 toyota tacoma 2004 4dr v6 engine?
A: i say check-out getusedparts.com. you can submit a request and you will get quotes from a number of places who have your part.
go with the guys who send you personal emails and the ones who call you up.
don't bother with car-part. that site is worthless. you have to go through hundreds of pages and you don't know what you're getting yourself into. you can't just pick out an engine by the lowest price, you need to know the details. check out getusedparts instead.

A: If not the KYBs... then Bilstein..
Find some used TRDs that someone is/has swappin out..
Q: What is the best motor oil to use for a 2004 3.4 toyota tacoma?
I'm trying mobil 1 with a K&N oil filter for the first time(about 2,000 miles ago). I used to go to the dealer. Is the K&N any better than the toyota filter?
A: depending on climate 10-30 for colder areas 10-40 for warmer areas.
Brand= Major name brand not the cheap stuff
Q: 2004 toyota tacoma recent oil change, sat 2wks air not blowing cold?
is there a relay switch, or intake valve sticking dont know if covered in extended warr. am knowledgable want to try to fix self
A: If fan runs but is not cold, 99% of time is means low or no freon in the AC system. This will not be a warranty item as freon is like oil, gas, its an item used.
Now if there is a leak, then that might be under warranty. But if you live in a hot area, use your AC alot, it wears out over time. Same with your home AC unit.
Worse case, as they changed the oil they bumped a AC line in turn creating a hair line crack in turn letting it leak. But would take a real nut job to pull that accident off.
Q: 2004 Toyota Tacoma manual transmission, can't shift gears when engine is cold.?
When my truck is cold, I cannot get it to go into gear. It simply will not go into any gear until it warms up for about 5-10 minutes (reverse makes a grinding sound). Once it's driveable..the shifting still seems tight for another 15 minutes. Once it's totally warmed up, everything works fine.
If the engine is off..it will shift just fine (cold or warm)
It's been going on for a couple of weeks now, seems to be getting worse. This a fluid issue? I have no idea how to check the transmission fluid.
A: I had the same problems with a couple of cars I've had. One was the clutch master and/or slave cylinder. The most recent - which sounds EXACTLY like the problems you're having - was either my syncs or my transmission. I ended up getting rid of the car before I found out for sure. I'd check the clutch and the clutch cylinders first. If that isn't the problem... it could be your tranny or the syncs. Good luck.
Q: How much does it cost to replace a Toyota Tacoma rear bumper? (for a 2004)?
A: Look around some junk yards and see if they have any that year you can get them for about half the price of a new one and maybe cheaper. If you want a new one check some after market parts suppliers and shop around. Each state has different aftermarket dealers and suppliers you have to dig a little to find them. Some times the quality is not the best but like they say you get what you pay for
Q: Toyota Tacoma, 200-2004, automatic, V6 <$7,000?
looking for my first ruck. Any ideas where i could find a Toyota Tacoma for under $7,000? Or maybe recommend another truck for the same amount? thanks
Meant to say "first TRUCK" not ruck. sorry.
A: I don't think you'll be getting a V-6 Tacoma for $7k. I would look at the Ford Rangers. i myself had 3 of them. My first one was a 1990, finally sold it with 365k miles on it. My second one replaced the '90, it was an '01. i bought it brand new and it had 95k on it when some fat chick in an Altima smashed into the front end at 65 mph. Walked away from that accident without a scratch (Point of impact was 76 mph according to the police report) and my '03 was a great truck.
Ford knows how to make a truck!!! I have also had an F-150 and an Explorer. Never a problem with any of them!
Q: Can I put a 2004 Scion XB stock radio in a '99 Toyota Tacoma?
My friend gave me a stock Scion XB stereo system (CD player, AM/FM, XM radio, etc), I was wondering if I would be able to put it in my '99 Tacoma. All I have in there now is a tape player and a radio. Scion is a branch off of Toyota...so maybe it might?
A: yes all the plugs are the same but the radio is not the same size
Q: Toyota Tacoma help please?
Ok so I am going for my license in two weeks and my dad is giving me his 2004 Toyota Tacoma. He claims its a really good truck (and expensive), and honestly I like driving it, it has guts. It came with upgrades and hes adding tinted windows and a runnning board. But I have no idea if it is a really nice truck b/c i dont know too much on trucks... I just know he is giving me a free car with almost no miles, so I dont want to complain. So can anyone tell me if it is indeed a good truck?
A: Giving it to you?!?!
You must have done something right in a previous life, because these are the best trucks on the road. Enjoy it; it will last you. Between me and my dad, we put 618,000 KM on his 1993 toyota pickup. And we beat on it. He put mixed gas in it. I learned to drive stick on it. Numerous people drove it. Took it 4X4ing, towing, and skiing. And then he sold it. That's right. With more than double the mileage most vehicles ever see, he sold it in perfect running order so he could get a newer one. God I loved that truck. I still have one of the keys on my key-chain.
Enjoy it. The videos below pretty much sum it up.

Q: 04 tacoma timing belt replacement?
I have a 2004 Toyota tacoma regular cab and how many miles should I replace the timing belt?
A: Seems to be some disagreement on this subject between my 2 sources. And the 2.7L isn't even mentioned. Might be best to check with the dealer or factory literature. They both agree the 3.4L is not an interference engine is the good news. (at least if that's what you have)

Q: On a Toyota Tacoma, what is the difference between an access cab and a double cab?
This is between a 2004 and 2005, also how long are the bed lengths?
A: Double cab has four full doors and a large backseat like a car , but an Access Cab is just an 'Extended Cab' which does have 4 doors but they open only with the front doors open and have a very small backseat. I don't know the exact length of the beds, but I believe the Double Cab has about a five foot bed and the Access Cab has around a six foot bed.
Q: 4 or 6 cylinder Toyota Tacoma?
I'm in love with the 2001-2004 Toyota Tacomas.I won't be towing much, maybe a 4 wheeler trailer.I'm just lookin to get away from an 8 cylinder engine.I would like to know which would perform better for the money and best power with fuel economy.I will be doin alot of hunting with my truck so I must have 4 wheel drive. Thanks!
A: The 4 cyl. will pull a small trailer just fine. My brother-in-law has a '98 Tacoma 4x4 with the 4 cyl. and he has to pull a trailer all over the place for his concrete business. The truck runs just as good as when he got it! I would just go with the 4 cyl. They're alot cheaper and get close to 30 mpg! G'luck!
