Q: Would a Toyota Tacoma be able to hold the box springs to a double/full bed?
I have to move a double/full sized bed this evening. I thought I'd only have a Ford Escape available, but now it looks like I'd have access to a Toyota Tacoma as well. Which would be better? I'm mostly concerned with the box springs since it's the largest and most inflexible piece. Thanks!

yeah, they'll fit, although they might lay sideways with one side up on the top of the side of the bed. just tie them down and all is well. the tire humps is what will be the problem, but laying sideways will be fine.

A: If you're referring to the extended cab, yes. There are small seats that come out from the back, which is different than most small trucks that have them on the sides.

I am buying a 4 wheel drive Tacoma and i am considering the 4 cylinder engine. I was wondering if the 4 cylinder engine can preform properly or is it necesary to have a V6 on a 4 wheel drive truck, such as a Toyota Tacoma?
A: Do you tow and or haul alot? Do you drive in a very hilly area? If yes get the v6, its not gonna be that much worse on gas but will give you more torque and horsepower than the 4. If no then get the four, it will be good on gas, plus you can still carry some stuff like lawn equipment or dressers, just dont tow a '69 impala up a 1 mile straight up hill!

Q: How to lift a Toyota Tacoma?
I'm looking at buying a 2006 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab. I want to know how I can add a little height to it so its looks a little more like a 4X4 or the prerunner. In my opinion the car looks a little "soft" right now because it rides so low. I'm not looking for some big jacked up truck just a little lift. Can I accomplish this by just buying bigger tires or do I actually have to lift it? I'm only looking for about 2 or 3 inches.

I mean really! Tacoma hybrid would be awesome! Their trucks get horrible gas mileage. I don't need to tow a boat or concrete. I just need it for the cargo space for christmas trees, bicycles, etc...

What is the difference between a tacoma sr5 and a prerunner? I've seen a few very different looking tacomas, and there is one I like but don't know what exactly it is. Pretty much any information about these trucks would be appreciated.
A: Hi,
for Toyota, the SR5 designation is a certain level of trim which varies somewhat depending on which vehicle it is on and what model year the vehicle is (the Tacoma is one of the vehicles Toyota offers the SR5 trim on, the Tundra would be one of the others).
Usually, SR5 includes options such as power windows and locks, keyless entry, cruise control air conditioning, single CD player and some type of upgraded interior. There may also be additional body moldings and those may be in color and a different rim/tire combination.
A PreRunner simply means the Tacoma has a 6 cylinder engine, but it is only rear-wheel drive.
PreRunners are not 4WD and are not available with a 4 cylinder engine.
The PreRunner will have a larger tire/rim combination like a 4WD model.
Prerunners usually have an SR5 trim package and may come in regular or extended cab configurations, depending on the model year.
Prerunners are easily identified by the Prerunner badging on the tailgate, or if that has been removed, by the absence of a 4WD shifter/turn dial in the interior of the cab.
A Tacoma may have the SR5 trim and may be a regular or extended cab, but be a 4 cylinder, 2WD or 4WD model.

Q: How do you remove the stock grille of an 01 Toyota Tacoma?
I just bought a new grille for my 01 tacoma i see that the stock grille is attached by clips but there is not space to remove it. How do i take it out?
A: It's not easy, and I'm not trying to be funny. You first remove the two outer turn lamps, and then you have to reach in with a long, small screw driver and push the clips down ( there are seven). I'm considering buying a new (2008) Tacoma down in the states as they are MUCH cheaper down there, then importing it to Canada. Would I have to pay duty on it?
A: First you have to find a dealer that will sell you one " and you wont " if vehicle is for export and your not a residence of United States
If it was that simple why bother having dealers in Canada, its simply not allowed by the Mfg to export new vehicles, used is not a problem. sorry

I'd like to cover the bed of my truck during the winter and want to know what the best tonneau cover or truck bed cover would be best for me. Anyone with a Tacoma, please chime in.
A: I just saw another Tacoma tonneau question, crazy, we must all have the best trucks! I got an Extang Express and it's perfect. I also have a buddy that has a gaylords tonneau cover which is the hard shell type too. We both got our goods at http://www.autoanything.com/tonneau-covers/10A50174.aspx for the really good deals. I called them up and got the best price. Actually was thinking about going the Ebay rout but online retailers are real dealers and will help with any warranty problems.
