Q: i recently bought a 1998 TT Toyota supra...?
now i was thinking bout putting custom twin turbo as well as twin superchargers on it so i was wondering if this is possible will it mess up my engine if so wat can i do to keep this from happening can you put more shift gears to balance the power or wat...? wat engines could hold this power
A: you have the most desirable engine in the tuning world! the 2jz is very tunable. if i was you i would invest in a single turbo, and get rid of the stock twins. a single turbo spools faster, and can put out a lot more boost than the stock twins. i would look into getting a garrett gt47-88mm turbo, and get all the hardware to install it, intercooler, piping, clamps, wastegate, bov, etc etc... now if you do this, you will have to either remap ur stock ecu, or spend the extra money and get a stand alone system, or an aem engine management system and have it professionally tuned. the 2jz can easily handle 20psi+ on stock internals, so you dont have to worry about upgrading the internals unless u r looking for high horsepower. and if it is a 6sp, you have the getrag tranny which is extremely strong, and durable. great for high hp. just go to supra forums and start reading, it will help u out a lot good luck mate!
Q: Custom Supra from toyota?
If I were to pay toyota like 100,000 dollars would they be able to make me a Toyota Supra Brand New but the same body, parts, and engine(2jz) as an older one? Basically asking them to remake a 1998 supra for me?
A: No. Its a 10 yr old car.
Toyota doesnt even make a Supra anymore. The assembly lines are all gone. The production tooling is probably all gone. If anything still exists its cheaper tooling used to make a few service parts. Even if they did have production tooling left its probably all worn out.
For $100k you could probably build a replica but it wont be from Toyota.
Q: What is a good sports car that a 16 year old like me can afford?
ok im 16 and i want 2 buy a new car , there are so many options out there but some cars r too expensive, what would be a cool looking , fast , sport car that i could buy in the years 1998-2007??? if any of u teens out there have any suggestions please tell me, my dream car is a 1998 Toyota Supra lol but thats not happening any time soon .
A: I'm 17 and I drive a '97 BMW 740i. It's huge and comfortable but it still flies like a bat out of hell. I only paid 10 grand for it with 71K miles used. The only bad thing is that with any sports car your insurance is going to be really high and you will most likely have a hard time finding a fuel-efficient fast car. Also, I love my BMW but it costs a ton to fix. If you get something like a BMW or a Mercedes, make sure you don't drive it hard or beat it because it will break and it will cost a fortune to repair. I had to replace the water pump in mine and it cost me almost 600 bucks.
Q: Whats better, a Toyota Supra or a Ford Mustang?
stock 1998 twin turbo supra vs. mustang cobra any year.
A: This question depends 100% on what you are asking. If you are asking which is faster, then the stock 03/04 cobras are much faster then the twin turbo supras. People that actually race instead of only watching on tv know that the twin turbo supras are actually not that fast in stock form compared to todays car. A 1998 twin turbo supra runs around a 13.6 1/4 mile where a 03/04 cobra runs around a 12.9 1/4 mile. The awesome part about the supras is there ability to be modified, they can make tremendous speed and power off there stock engines. Now if you are asking which car would be better to own, then it comes down to personal preference. The '98 supra is a "tuner" car, it is a v6 turbo charged engine. The 03/04 cobra mustang is a "muscle" car, it is a v8 supercharged engine. I recently had to make this decision and I went with the 2004 cobra because I like the big engines and look of the muscle cars better. It was 51% cobra and 49% supra though. With all of the time I have spent at the track, I have a lot of respect for the supras. Probally the biggest factor for my decision was money. This car is my everyday driving vehical and so I needed a reliable car with low miles. I got a 04 cobra with only 8k miles for $27,500. If I were to get a twin turbo 1998 supra with only 8k miles it would have cost me between $50,000 and $60,000. Even one with 30k or 40k miles would have cost me over $30,000. Another factor for money is the supra is more expensive to modify as well. This is because turbo chargers and there parts are generally more expensive then superchargers and there parts. Also, parts for a 2004 ford are a lot cheaper then parts for a 1998 toyota. So, like I said in the begining, it just depends on what you are looking for. The cobra is a faster and less expensive "muscle" car. The supra is more expensive, but it handles better and with mods can be made just as fast as the cobra, it is a "tuner" car. For my money, you cant beat the 03/04 cobras.
Q: What car do you have and what are you hoping to be your next car?
I have a Mitsubishi EVO V, in black with a HKS turbo, and rage muffler, my next car I am hoping to be a Nissan skyline R33 or 1998 Toyota supra
A: At the moment i have an R33 Spec 2 Nissan Skyline before i had the R32 Skyline.
Next we are looking at getting an Evo of some gen or a R34 GTT Skyline.
We looked at the Supra and they are great cars also but with the lack of any back seat at all it was a big no as there wasnt even room for the kids.big shame tho.But enjoying Skylines atm.
OUR R33 and our old R32

Q: which would cost more on insurance? S2000 or Supra?
I'm 22 years old... And my cousin is selling me his 1998 Toyota Supra for only $7000. (he's done with payment, just wants to give away because of his new car). Anyways, before all this happen I was going to get myself a S2000! But now with a great deal that he is giving me, I decided to go with the car on the Insurance cost!
So which one will cost more?
1998 Toyota Supra Turbo
or
04-08 Honda S2000
(btw... the car is going to be under my dads name... he's 45 with a clean record)
Thanks in advance
A: They will be close because are coupes and consider sport cars.
If your dad will get the insurance than don't worry and get the one you like.If my answer is not good enough or you like to here the $ amount call Progressive Ins. or Geico and get a quote.

Q: what tires would be the best for my car?
I have 1998 toyota supra tt and its pushin' about 980 horse power at the rear wheels what tires would be best for this like z rated or somthin
A: sure!
Q: Which car should I get?
I can't decide between a 1969 Ford Musang Fastback with Stage 5 Supercharger or a 1998 Toyota Supra with Stage 4 Turbo, 25lbs PSi tuned by DSM, with stage 5 clutch, flywheel, and a shortshifter
A: i get the mustang just cause i always wanted one
Q: if u could go into illegal street racing what car would u use?
and u could steal a car too so mine r
1-2005 bmw m3 gtr coupe
2-1999 nissan skyline r34 gtr
3-1998 toyota supra
4-1998 mazda rx 7
5-mitsubishi motors lancer
A: Depends on what your doing... street racing in Texas is wide and varied.
If you talking about a straight-line street drag, none of those cars (in stock form at least) would hold a candle to anything here in DFW.
5- Lancer is a slow POS, you didn't say Evolution.
4- RX-7's are great, but in stock form still not fast.
3- Same with the supra, all though it is fast, not fast enough.
2- R34's are quick, but their is one in DFW I think, thats all.
1- M3 GTR is a flippen race car if I remember.
If your talking about a highway race, all of those but the lancer would be allright. I'd guess the M3 first, Supra second, R34 third.
Most of what is fast around here is:
Corvette Z06
03+ Mustang Cobra
LS1 Trans-Am, Camaro, Firebird
5.0 Fox Body Mustang
MKIV Toyota Supra turbo
1st Gen Eclipse GSX, Talon TSi
Lancer Evolution VIII
S13-S14 240sx, Sr20, RB20, or RB26 motors
Just a few of what I see to be the fastest and most common.
Q: Which car should i buy?!?
Alright guys,
Im 16 and lookin to buy my first car.
Im debating over a 2005 Mitsubishi eclipse
Or a 1998 Toyota Supra.
Even the most recent model of a Toyota Celica.
Im looking for looks and performance.
I will buy the car used but in good condition.
Help me out here =]
A: What's up with these stupid, "Support America" responses? First of all the car is used so Toyota or Mitsubishi aren't getting any money out of it. Second of all most Japanese companies are OPENING plants in the US. So they are giving Americans jobs.
Anyways, I wouldn't go with either. The Eclipse is somewhat girly and is unreliable. The Supra is nice, but WILL be expensive as hell. You should look at something like perhaps a V6 Accord. It would have enough performance for you and will be reasonable, and reliable. If you get a high performance car at 16 there is a VERY good chance you will end up wrecking it in a couple of months.
Q: my ebrake is jammed?
my ebrake is jammed on my 1998 toyota supra twin turbo. can anyone help
A: If you have drum brakes on the rears, you probably let the adjustment on the brake shoes go too far. This causes the hand brake handle to go too far past its stops. The cables should be able to be adjusted loose just under the hand brake boot. Then adjust your rear brake shoes. hope that helps.
Q: car prices?
what is the lowest price that i could even wish to find any of these cars at?
1994-1998/toyota supra twin turbo
1993-1998/mazda rx7
2001-2004/bmw m3 coupe
A: on the twin turbo supra - about $6k or higher
mazda rx7 - about $3k or higher
(for turbo models are around $5.5k or higher)
and M3 coupes - bare minimum is around $9k or $10K
(unless you want a wrecked one)
If you like ebay thats the lowest place to go
if not then search the web for used cars like: carmax, wheels masazine, and used car dealerships
Q: car schematics?
is there a place on the internet where you can find car schematics for these cars:
2000 nissan silvia s15 aero
1995 nissan silvia s14 K's
1999 nissan skyline r34 gtr
1994 mazda rx-7
1998 toyota supra
A: i wish i knew WTF u mean when you say schematic... like an electical wiring diagram? or specifactions? WTF U MEAN MAN!!!
Q: $40,000 Dollar Dream Car?
ok lets say someone gave you 40 Grand to spend on a car what kinda car would you want to buy
ONLY THE CAR you cant buy it and hook it up and you cant buy a car and sell it..
The Money is for THE CAR only
Mine would be a 1998 Toyota Supra
A: beamer :)
