Q: What do you think is the better car? Acura NSX (1991-1994) or a Toyota Supra Turbo (1994-1998)?
both STOCK
A: both legendary cars, theres no way anyone could possibly choose stock vs stock. but if both were modified than supra would be for insane acceleration, and the nsx would be a beast on a track. if its for street use you should just test drive both. if i really came down and i was on the spot on choosing one of them i would go for a supra just because they are torque monsters
Q: What would be in your dream garage?
Okay folks I'm a little bit bored and perving on some cars (what else can a boy do ay???) and ive come up with a small wishlist of cars:
Nissan Silvia S15
Toyota Supra Mk IV
Toyota Soarer 30 Series 1991
Nissan 350z
Mazda Rx8
Aston Martin Db9
Holden Coupe 60 (if it ever does come into light)
Holden Efijy (only one in the world) :(
ROUSH 427R Mustang
Thats my little list...anyway basically i was going to ask what others would have in their dream garage if they could have any 5 cars they liked but they have to nominate one other to top the list in the field of SHEER AWESOMENESS!!! eg. Looks, Manoeverability, How easy it is to drive and speeeeed (sorry if this question has been done before but im kinda new at this and im just curious as to what people think)
A: Aston Martin DB9
Pagani Zonda
Ferrari Enzo
Lamborghini Diablo
Skyline GT (especially newer models)
Q: Mazda vs.Others. Question?
Ok first off I am a die hard Mazda fan period. Just to clear things up I am an American white man. Now my question is simple, how come Mazda doesn't come out with a car (mainly the rx8) that can compete with the nissan gtr or the toyota supra ??? Mazda has the money and the know how. Just look at the 1991 Le-mans. And how the very next year they kicked Mazda out because (for lack of better terms) their engines were too "small". To me I think alot of people and companies got really scared. However, we all know that Mazda could make a super car like the nissan gtr that is still a daily driver and still compete with all the big boys in Japan and most of America. So why don't they ???... Please don't respond with some uneducated answer cause you drive a nissan or supra, because for a little $$$ you could get a Rx7 to run by you.
Let me clarify that I know the 91' car was a race car but it could be scaled down to a production car the 787B was well over 650hp with a 4 rotor engine. Mazda could drop a bigger 2 rotor twin turbo engine in a RX8 an make at least 400hp minimum. With that power and that weight the gtr couldn't touch it. My question is why don't they just do it???
A: Could Mazda have a HALO car...sure, but is there any money in it for them?
With their Zoom Zoom marketing campaign they've already positioned themselves as a fun, progressive, sporty car manufacturer. And with cars like the RX8, MX5 Miata, Mazdaspeed 3, and the now defunct Mazdaspeed 6 they have proven they can build performance cars.
As to building a rotary powered supercar. Yup, they could easily do it. They could throw a turbocharged 20B into an RX8 and have a real screamer. But it ain't likely ever to happen because there would be problems.
The standard NA 2-rotor rotary doesn't get great fuel mileage, nor will it ever be able to compete in that arena as rotary's cannot be as efficient in fuel usage. If you add a 3rd rotor you mileage will become very poor and probably get hit with Gas Guzzler taxes. Add a turbo on top of that and gas mileage will be in the single digit range.
Also, rotary engines are difficult to keep within emissions regulations. The new Renesis meets them but this is mainly due to the side-ports for both intake and exhaust. There is no port-overlap at all so this helps with emissions but does limit the potential HP gains available without forced-induction.
Coming soon, though, is the new 1.6X rotary engine. This engine will have better HP and torque and since it's Direct Injection this should add more power while maintaining present fuel consumption/emissions.
Within the sports car community both the RX8 and Miata are well known and respected. It's only the "youngin's" that just don't understand that not every car is built to be a drag race car. Both of these vehicles are looked at as "precision scalpels" in the automotive world, as opposed to the "sledge-hammer" cars.
Would I complain if either car had an extra 100 HP...heck no! But I'm not worried about it. Both cars do exactly what they were designed to do. I didn't buy my 8 to street race, which is fine as it was never designed to be a red-light racer. But I can out-corner just about anything else on the road.
Q: who here likes a 1991 toyota supra?
A: Gorgeous car.
