Q: Selling a car on Ebay?
I am in a bit of a situation.. I need to sell my 2007 Toyota Solara SLE. this car is loaded, has every option imaginagle, and is just not selling! I was thinking about selling on Ebay. the KBB is 26K and I want to sell it for at least what I owe (20K) and have it listed EVERYWHERE!! for about 22K OBO. any suggestions? Also, Carmax will only give me 14K for it, leaving me upside down...
A: Pricing you car in order to sell it successfully is integral and unfortunately KBB does not always give you the price that guarantees success.
Try this pricing method which is based on actual completed sales of cars just like yours.

Q: Refinancing auto loan to change owner?
My Boyfriend wrecked my 2007 Toyota Solara SLE. it took over 3 months to be repaired, and i needed a car, so I purchased a new 4 Runner. I am having issues selling the Solara, so we have decided that "you break it you buy it" My boyfriend has agreed to take over payments and put the car in his name. he does not have the best of credit, but has about the same as what I had when I purchased. I contacted HSBC and they informed me that they would not do it and that I needed to refinance. how do I go about getting this put into his name? who should I call? what should I do, I need to do this quickly so that I can get this car out of my name and refinance the 4Runner with a lower finance rate and lower my payments
thank you!
A: Well basically you need to sell the car to him. He needs to secure a loan and buy the car from you. The only way to refinance the car in "his" name is to have you on the loan as co-signer. That won't help your situation with the 4Runner. Know this though, when you sell him the car, it will incur sales tax.
So steps:
1. Have him find a loan to buy the Solara from you.
2. Get that done and the title transferred.
3. Once that all goes through, keep up with your credit. Once that is off your credit report (it'll be there but showed as paid off) you can then refinance your 4Runner. (http://www.rategenius.com - Just a suggestion)
Q: PLEASE HELP ME choose a CAR?@!????
Okay, both cars are used but with really good mileage, where their both practically new.
1) Honda Civic LX 2007 with 414 mileage
-----blue color
-----everything on this car is basic, there was no options
2)Toyota Solara 2007 with 600 mileage
-----red
------alot of options: including GPS ...ect.
basic info: I am a girl, so guys if you like the civic since the solara looks girly dont put that as a reason.
------gas prices is also a problem
but then i'm basically not going to travel alot just in the local area.
PLEASE HELP ME I'M DIEING FOR A SECOND OPINION.
A: the honda is great on gas and toyota's are more boring than your grandmothers bingo night so go with the honda. even if its a base car there is TONS of aftermarket accesories for civics, so costomize away!
Q: Harassment of My Car!?
Can anyone tell me why someone left a note on my car while I was in Walmart that said, "If you love America so much and your such a patriot then why are you driving a 'jap' car you fuc*king idiot?" This really bothered me because I have US Army stickers and patriot magnets on the back of my car and a bumper sticker that says "My hero wears combat boots." My fiance is in the Army. I have a Toyota Solara 2007. My car was specially ordered and made in Lexington, Ky! Not Japan. I just wanted to know why this idiot, whomever it may have been left something on my car like that? Anyways, even if it was a Jap car, we are not at war with Japan, and what does the car that you drive have anything to do with your patriotism and your loyalty to this country anyway!? Just wanted some input from people! Arg! lol
A: some things in life you need to take with a grain of salt but i would be catious where you go
i am an army wife i love my husband dearly but i dont put thoes stickers or magnets on my car it just makes you a target for idiots that dont understand what it is to be a solider or a hero
i wear pins on my jackets and i am proud of my husband on the inside and i show it that way. i dont need stickers that cause people to harass me. everyone has there own opinions about people in the military, and thats ok they can have them because my husband fights for there freedom of opinion. i dont need to endanger myself or others because i believe diffrently than so many already do
it is up to you but i suggest showing your patriotism other ways since how you are geting nasty notes on your car for your own saftey people are crazy out there and i know you dont want it happening again id take the stickers off of your car but that is just me
too many people do not understand what true patriotism is. Patriotism is being not only proud of your country but also not embarasing your countary twards others and other countaries meaning having respect for not only others but yourself as well no matter what the diffrent opinion is or diffrent culture is alot of being in or apart of the military is respect towards the military, america, and other peoples countary and opinion that is what fighging for freedom is all about
Q: CONSUMER REPORTS...about 6 months to 1 year behind the curve...?
http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2007/autos/0702/gallery.consumer_reports_top_picks/index.html
While looking at Consumer Reports, they seem to be on the ball...until you see something more in real-time, than "predictions" based on older models.
Now take a look at the 2007 JD Power Inital Quality Survey..quite contrasting considering Mercedes Benz now produces a higher quality product than Toyota, Porsche is # 1 for the past two years, and a Ford Mustang has even a higher built quality than a Toyota Solara.
Now remember, statistical probability dictates if something will go wrong due to manufacturing or latent defect, it will happen much sooner than later, hence the reasoning behind "initial quality" reports.

Yes DESIGN whould be part of the equation, as people buy what they want, not what they need.
A: While I agree Consumer Reports predicted reliability scores should be taken with a grain of salt, I don't consider the JD Power IQS any better. Did you know it actually counts "design defects" in rating initial quality? For example, you think the cup holders are lousy in your car -- that's considered a ding in the IQS.

Q: HELP ME! I need some tips on driving and parking a...............?
2007 GMC Sierra, King Cab, plus, a covered bed....
(I started my new job today, and I also got my new truck today...I am used to driving a Toyota Solara(my car), so this is a veeerrrrry BIG TRUCK!
I have to use the side mirrors comptlely. I have very little space to see out of the back of the bed cab.
Parking in a space, with two cars on either side of me seems impossible. It is a very long truck. Also making sure the truck is 'straight', once I have pulled into a spot, was a little difficult too!'
Its my company truck..(YES...no more GASoline eating me out of house and home) Got to look GOOD in front of the guys when I go back to work Monday!
Help???
A: While it is a "BIG TRUCK" it still has all the same basics of driving that your Solara adheres to.
Forward. Reverse. Steering to the left or the right and braking to a stop. The principles are the same.
The wheelbase is bigger and the body may extend past the wheels more than your Solara, but it's still something you can learn to handle.
Practice in an empty parking lot to familiarize yourself with how much room the truck needs to make a turn.
In tight situations, you may have to do some 'back-n-forth' manuvers to steer the truck into a parking slot without hitting obstacles.
Adjust the angle of the mirrors to provide you with the best balance of visibility (up, down, in or out from the truck body).
Perform simple manuvers first. Starting & Stopping. Turning left or right. Making U-turns. Backing up straight. Backing up while turing left or right.
Then perform Three-point-turns (also known as "K-turns").
Lastly perform Parallel Parking manuvers.
You are in command of the truck. It will respond to your actions.
Your ability and confidence will improve with practice.
Best wishes. :-)
