Q: Does anyone knows if I Can use 205/40zr17 in a 2008 toyota sienna van?
A: That tire size would degrade the ride and performance of the van, its to small of a width
Q: can i change my 2008 toyota sienna headlight to hid type?
A: Absolutely. They actually have that as a factory option. However it will be much cheaper to buy an HID conversion kit off of ebay. Find out what type of headlamp bulb you have (h1, H11, etc) and then buy the kit. The kits usually go for around $250
Q: Sienna 2008 XLE DVD Manufacture Needed?
Hi, my daughter has this DVD game system called Little Leaps. It basically plays games using a DVD player and acts like a remote. In order to program it we need to enter a code for the DVD manufacture in the little leaps console. I wanted to see if anyone would know who makes the factory installed DVD player on a 2008 Sienna 2008 XLE. Toyota would not give us the information. Thanks for any help you can give.
A: I don't think that Toyota is going to tell you as there are most likely several different company's that make it. How ever in your owner's paper work it will show it's operation meaning that no matter who they have make it, it is going to be the same in all of their mini vans. I would look very close in the operator's instructions that you got with the game and see if there is a code for the Toyota DVD player. If not there should be a number listed to tech assistance (support) for the installation of the game call and ask them for a code for a Toyota, I'll bet if it isn't listed in the book that they have a code for it anyways in their tech. information pamphlets.
Q: should i buy the extended warranty on my new toyota sienna?
I just purchased a 2008 van with 15000 miles on it. The 36 mo. warranty in Canada is $1700. & that's a lot. It still has the manufactures warranty on it. do I need more?
A: If Peter was 100% correct then we ("warranty" company) wouldnt be paying out thousands and thousands of dollars a day in claims. ALL on vehicles with less than 100K. As great as it would be for car owners to have cars that make it past 100K miles, not all cars do. And just because the drivetrain makes it to 100K doesnt mean the A/C compressor, window motors, power seat motors, rack and pinions, etc.. will make it.
If you dont get one and something goes out you will wish you had it, if you get one and something goes out you will be glad you had it. If you get it and nothing fails you can have peace of mind know you purchased a good car and that you had a back up plan just incase.
Generally, Asian cars are more reliable, American cars on in the middle of the pack and European cars are the worst. That is generally you still find Asian cars that break down all the time and you still find American cars that dont... I would rather be safe.. than sorry.
You can wait until your factory warranty is closer to expiring, but you have to understand the longer you wait, the more miles you put on it the more expensive it will be.
Q: 2008 Toyota engine ticking noise.?
I have 5000 miles on our toyota Sienna and at idle, their is a ticking noise which the dealer states is standard in this engine,i find this hard to believe, any ideas ?
A: The injectors do make a clicking noise easer to hear when idiling.
I can't say for sure without hear in the noise.
The motor is quiet so it is easer to hear the normal noise thats you would not hear 2 years ago.
Q: Does a major car dealership have to disclose if the car they are selling has been wrecked?
Just wanting to know, I am about to ask them. We just purchased a used 2008 Toyota Sienna and they have already replaced the transmission and we have had an electrical problem. Now the Sienna is doing the same thing it did when the transmission was replaced and it's only been a few weeks. I just wonder if it has been wrecked. We have owned many Toyotas and never had any problems with them. Probably should have checked before we bought it. At least it still under warranty, but it is a pain if we will have to keep taking it back.
A: A major car dealer needs to disclose everything about a used car they're selling that will affect its safety, its reliability or its resale value. If a car's been in a significant accident, that needs to be disclosed. If the frame was damaged, if it was a "factory buy-back" due to a lemon law claim, if the air bags were deployed, in a flood, if it was repainted, or the suspension altered, all these things need to be disclosed.
If your Sienna and any of these problems and it was disclosed to you, you have a solid case against the dealer. He needs to buy the car back from you or face a civil suit. Disclosures are no longer a matter of ethics. They're a matter of law. Federal consumer protection laws.
Ask him for the history on your Sienna.
Q: What is the return policy for Toyota?
Hi,
We bought a new Toyota Sienna 2008 and its 2 days old. The van as such is great and I love it. Having said that, the van never came with a moonroof and we asked the dealer for having a Moonroof added to it which costed us around $1100 more. He never mentioned that it would be from a Toyota authorized third party vendor(probably we should have aksed). Well, I was ok with that too. Here is the problem, Since the moment I have driven the car out of the lot, the brackets or the Sunshade (not sure what) make a rattling noise. Its evern higher on the interstates when I have my Moonroof open... The Sunshade is never intact and if I happen to put a sudden brake it just slides to the front. After paying 33k on this van, I am terribly shatterred... I am hardly able to njoi it.
Thank you reading through my agony. All I wanted to know is if I could return this car which is just 2 day old.
Thanks a lot, VK
Thank you all for your response. If I want to trade in this Van and buy another one, can anyone suggest how much will I end up loosing.
A: Unfortunately Toyota does not have a return policy. Most manufacturers do not. Once you sign the paperwork its yours. You don't even have to pull off the lot. As for the problem with the aftermarket sunroof, take it back and the dealership will have it repaired.
Q: Car Haggling-new car! How much can I expect to get?
ok I went into the dealership and haggled the price of a new 2008 Toyota Sienna Minivan. I got $2000 the first time. Went to another place and then went back to the first and they took an additional $300. Should I shop around still or is that pretty good? By the way, I hate doing it and the guy started to get pissed off.
A: your doin good.
go in at the end of the month. when they need a sale. plus sales have sucked. so they will bend over back words to get you taken care of . allso get your own financing and you should be better off. just think a couple days goin back and forth between dealers will save you alot of money. so take it as like its your job and your goin for a raise.
plus make them mad.how cares. you wont see them after the sale anyways. there mad cause your making them work for there money.
get it on the 29 or the 30th of the month and you should get the best deal.

Q: Is this a good car lease deal?
2008 Toyota Sienna LE 8 Passenger Invoice $27,189
$4,000 down (which includes all fees, tax, title, registration, acquisition fee, and gap insurance)
$255 per month for 36 months
A: actually, yes, unless it is very low mileage, that is a very nice deal. Just make sure you can meet any mileage requirement, or you will be very displeased at the end of the lease when you could be paying 20-25 cents per mile over. If the lease mileage is in excess of 12,000 miles per year, you might also want to make sure your warranty coverage is extended to meet the lease terms.. i know they are reliable cars, but what sux more than paying 4k for a tranny for a car you are about to turn in?
